After not having climbed for 5 months due to a shoulder reconstruction in February, I'm happy to report that I sucessfully climbed Icehouse (16) at
Ngungun today.
I've spent the last couple of weeks testing out my new shoulder at the climbing gym, and was feeling confident enough to tackle some leading again. A
glorious day, with the entire cliff to ourselves. The approach to the main cliff was quite wet in places, and therefore very slippery, causing us to bail from
the approach (who'd have thought!
) and opting for a rap in
from the top instead, which served as a good recce. The vertical stuff was quite dry, with only a couple of places where water had pooled in behind some of
the bigger jugs.
So stoked to be climbing outdoor again after being cooped up for what felt like an eternity
Col, I reckon I'm good to start pulling Lantana again, so count me in for the next Lantana clearing day.
I'll be seein ya'll on the rock!
