I have a ruling needed from the Ethics Police. Where do boulder projects stand when it comes to ownership? In sport climbing we have particular 'rules'
that the climbing community generally follow when it comes to time and money invested into puting a climb up. What about boulders? Does someone who finds a
line, does a little cleaning and can't do it immediately have 'ownership' rights?
In my opinion, no. Say someone comes along the next day and spots the chalk marks or sees the line as well. How do they know it's a project? There is no red tag on it to indicate it's a project and for me that whole secret squirrel keep off %!*@ goes completely against the whole bouldering mentallity. ie. doing hard %!*@ being egged on by your mates and sharing the beta and the occasion.
Last word from me. What's the point of a one man race anyway?
