Turns out that it's an aboriginal sacred site, so access is out of the question.
Just to save someone else wondering about it! I know I've looked at it on most trips to Frog, and wondered if it's a chosspile or not.

Rock Formation near Peak Crossing |

Recently Sean and I went for a little explore on the way back from Frog, having noticed the prominent outcrop just East of Peak Crossing. It appeared to be on land belonging to the Ivory's Rock Conference Centre, so I gave them a call the other day to find out about possible access.

It's all a front... | ||

I heard that it's actually a Grand Lodge of the Freemasons!
They are working on a new pyramid/temple which is disguised as a quarry amongst other things like cutting edge christian faith healing and developing a super bird flu... --------------------------------------------------------- Who controls the British crown? Who keeps the metric system down? We do! We do! Who leaves Atlantis off the maps? Who keeps the martians under wraps? We do! We do! Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Guttenberg a star? We do! We do! Who robs the cave fish of their sight? Who rigs every Oscars night? We do! We do! |

Lee, we did comment at the time that it looked cultish.
That's interesting Dr, that they've changed their story. I take it by the tone though that some judicious exploration has been done though? |

There has been a bit of climbing activity up there in the past, but apparently nothing much to cry over if lost.
If you're still keen, why not join the cult |

m8o just don't carry an ID...... when they find your body you'll be promptly named John Doe, simple.
Yeah Anthony this has been discussed heaps. They are some kinda weird cult type thing. Apparently it's rather chossy from various sources. You can drive past it rather close and it doesn't seem to be great rock. A mate and I actaully hatched a plan to get in a scope it out but then gave up on the grounds of too much work...... Just shave your head and sign up.

We did a lot of research into this when we were climbing at mt flinders, ivory rock sits on the convention center land. I know kenny was once chased out by
someone when scoping out the crag (rock is apparently mostly bad).
We had a series of weird things happen when we frequented the place, including being chased by someone taking photos of our car, when we confronted them they were incredibly defensive of what happened there. This article sums up the situation quite well: http://sydney.indymedia.org.au/node/15179 Good Luck |

You'll find it listed here amongst Prem Rawat's "assets".
I climbed Ivories Knob several times as a kid with my Dad back in the fifties. I can't remember much about it except it certainly was high enough to kill yourself as a dude demonstrated one time we were out there. And it had some caves the floors of which were totally smooth and highly polished by the action of aeon's worth of furry rock wallaby bums sliding over them. I thought it would be good to marshal some random facts on the topic

I think Four Corners did a show on this cult a few years ago.

Four Corners investigated the Exclusive Brethren and something called the Christian Fellowship, but this sounds like another bunch of crooks.
