Jamb junkie 1 year (03/08/08 11:07 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None i had a quick search but couldnt find anything solid. so im wondering what bolt plates i should buy? do they all sort of have a one size fits all approach? i always hear people saying you need "insert brand" or such and such for the bolts at "insert crag" because of "insert reason". i just wanna buy a selection that i can use around glasshouse mountains area mainly. never climbed at KP but i spose i might one day if it matters for the purposes of the plates lifting off; my draws have Black Diamond Quicksilvers at the pro end. thanks nicko

Your life.... your judgement There is another thread re hazards of bolts that protrude from the rock, that might be worth searching for.

I've found the 45 degree plates to be bothersome (to say the least) at difficult clips. RP plates haven't fitted on some bolts in the past (rare). If I'm using carrots I carry wires as well in case. RP plates are smaller (lighter?).

The bolts that Chester put in (lower wall and 3 routes on the main wall) have smaller heads. So check them. However a few of them are a bit fat cause he bashed them pretty hard. Climb hard - or kneebar, your choice.
